Payments & Transfers for International Users Adding a Personal External Account
Your private accounts at other financial institutions can be linked to Digital Banking with First Citizens, so you can transfer money between two banks without ever leaving home! When you go to add another account, you are asked to verify your ownership of that account by confirming two small deposits First Citizens makes into the external account. Any First Citizens customers with International contact information should follow the steps below. If you don’t have an international address, please refer to the External Transfers section on page 54.

On the Payments & Transfers landing page, click Add External Transfer Accounts . 1. Enter the account number. 2. Select the type of account using “Account Type” drop-down. 3. Enter the financial institution’s routing number. These numbers are located at the bottom of a paper check or deposit slip from your checkbook. 4. Click the Continue button.
In two to three business days, two micro-deposits will appear in your external account. Once you receive the deposits, go to the Verify External Account tab to add the account.
