Zelle ® Tag Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to have a business account on my Zelle ® profile in order to be eligible to register a Zelle ® tag? Yes, a user must have an available business account to be eligible to register a Zelle ® tag. What if I don’t have a mobile number that can be ownership verified to use as a Contact Method? If you don’t have an eligible mobile number, then you cannot register a Zelle ® tag. However, you can register an email address.
Can small business users create their own Zelle ® tag? Yes, users can create their own Zelle ® tag. It must be a unique value across the Network.
Can a Zelle ® tag be transferred from one financial institution to another? Yes, a Zelle ® tag can be transferred from one financial institution to another if the associated Contact Method (mobile number) is the same as the other financial institution.
Will a Zelle ® tag have an associated QR Code? Yes, every Zelle ® tag that gets registered will have a QR Code generated.
If a mobile token is restricted and it is used as a Contact Method for a Zelle ® tag, will the Contact Method or Zelle ® tag be impacted? Yes, the Contact Method will be deactivated, and you will have 45 days to re-verify it. What if my mobile number used as a Contact Method is disconnected by my carrier? If a carrier disconnect notice is received for a mobile phone number used as the Contact Method, you have 45 days to re-verify the mobile number. After 45 days, the Zelle ® tag will be deactivated.
